London Chocolate Shops

by: Alfred Smith
There are lots of places in London you can find alluring chocolates, and I have made it my priority to hunt out the best. There are massive chocolate makers, there are a few that put in a lot of articifical preservatives, and those that just use natural ingredients, keeping things simple and making everything by hand. This is London Chocolate that can't be beaten

I've spent many weeks eating my way through the streets of London, trying lots of different chocolate truffles, spending hours tasting each one and finding out exactly how they are made. I can tell you there are lots of differences. The first tip I have when buying any chocolates is to check the use by date on the box. If it lasts a few months, then that means there are a most likely artificial preservatives. As with most foods, the fresher they are, and the less preservatives the better.

My favourite chocolate in the capital is Sobo Chocolate. Formed in 2007 by Helen and James, they make delicious gooey cookies, fresh handmade truffles and the most fantastic other treats you could ever find. It's all made in their neat little kitchen in Islington, and their chocolates take some beating. There are no preservatives in there, so everything tastes fantastic.

You can find their goods all over London in a few cafes, such as L'eau a la Bouche or even at Partridges market who stock the giant cookies that have made the Sobo brand famous in London.
